“Choose the right courses and the right qualifications for you”
Course details relate to 2010/2011.
During Year 9, parents and pupils are invited to an evening at the School to explore and discuss the range of subjects offered at key stage 4.
In Years 10 and 11 extra classes are created to ensure that average group size is in the low 20's.
All pupils follow a core curriculum consisting of English Language GCSE, English Literature GCSE, DiDA Information and Communication Technology, Mathematics GCSE, Physical Education, Personal and Social Education (which includes Religious Education) and Science GCSE.
Pupils will then have the opportunity to choose additional subjects leading to either a Vocational qualification or GCSE. Choices are guided and depend upon aptitude and ability.
Students must decide between two possible option routes: Route 1 offers two subjects (1 GCSE (Double Award) plus 1 GCSE or 1 BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate); Route 2 offers three subjects each at GCSE or 2 GCSEs and 1 BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate.
